The overall purpose of this consultancy is to co-ordinate the national resource flow survey for family planning, to ensure that data collection is successfully conducted.
Reliable and timely data on financial resource flows for family planning is critical for monitoring progress towards meeting the objectives of Family Planning 2020. The data is needed to know how much is currently being spent on family planning and what the funding gap is. Tracking resource flows is even more crucial now given the changing donor landscape. The major outcome of the project is the “Report of the Secretary-General on the Flow of Financial Resources for Assisting in the Implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development” presented each year to the Commission on Population and Development.
